QUARTS For many years we have been working with one of the UK’s largest water companies in supporting and developing QUARTS. This advanced Analytical Quality Control system includes direct interfacing of laboratory instruments. QUARTS forms part of a data cascade that prevents invalid data ever reaching the main Laboratory Information Management System. It has action and warning limits, multilevel AQC samples, bias detection and AQC review modules for re-calculation of AQC action and warning limits. |

Fertiliser Blend Analyser One of our largest single installations was at a fertiliser manufacturing plant. This consisted of a network of PCs and Allen Bradley PLCs.The PLCs controlled the operation of two existing fertiliser blend analysers while two PCs collected and processed the data from the instruments and a third PC ran SCADA software, which monitored the perfomance of the blending process. Many different types of fertiliser could be blended by the plant by changing the mix of the raw feed. The system communicated its results to the plant’s main data system computer. A particular feature of the analyser was the possibility of running any one of the analysers systems from any one PC. |
